sunny: the CCD decided to give up and stop working. It seems it's a common problem with many Canon cameras, and Canon offers free replacement for affected cameras. Unfortunately, while the S1 IS uses the same CCD (and have the same problems), it's not in the list (yet?). Even if they do offer replacements, I'll have to bring it back to Malaysia to get it replaced. :( Bad shit. Will try to call up Canon UK one of these days if they can help me out.

jay: Yeah. I was eyeing that as well :) Have to wait till i get a job first lah. Too early to invest in a new camera.

jules: interesting site ;)

Get a vacation job or work in the pub during the weekends. a lot of my college mates did that in UK.

Some even man the ovens in bakeries a HOT job. I remeber a guy doing that was able to buy himself a nive beetle like car izit vauxwagon and zip around uni and home and work with it.

One electronics ebgr guy even got himself a job in the Marina as an officer. Don't know he do WHat...

When I was a student in UK we only cook soya sauce chicken with white mushrooms or pork or grilled belly pork or nam yee chicken with potatoes. Vege was just 'yua chai' boil and make oyster sauce with garlic. The famous soup was potatoes carrot onions or Maggi paket soup. New Year party was steamboat using the rice cooker to boil the stock. Sometimes Doc Anthony will cook us Sukiyaki and we each had a raw egg in the bowl for dip.

ukgal: sounds like you all had loads of fun :) Would love to get a job and earn some $$$, unfortunately I'm not on vacations. I postponed work on my dissertation to concentrate on the exams, and I now have quite a lot of catching up to do.
