Wagers and celeries

This was from way back during the World Cup semi-finals.

I lost a bet to my housemate, H, and the loser had to cook up a new dish using the limited ingredients we had in the fridge.

Outcome: Crap salary Crab Celery

ok. I admit. Lame pun ... and misleading too. No crabs were involved, only crab sticks, which aren't even made of crabs (but surimi).

Anyway, here's a quick run-thru.

Chopped up crab sticks, along with some shredded cheese ...

... mixed well and microwaved till the cheese melted and the c'sticks became mushy.

Stirred in some mayonaise, lime juice, salt and pepper to form a coleslaw-like filling.

Large spoonfulls were then piled generously into unto onto inside the cavity of some celery sticks, and let to rest in the fridge for about 15 mins.

Turned out to be a pretty lovely cold dish. Healthy too... well, sort of.

Did you know that celery had negative calories???

I managed to convince myself that it would somehow magically cancel out the calories brought on by the mayonaise/cheese, somehow. So, yeah... healthy :p

Served with a simplified version of currydogs

that is lovely.....will be much better if crab meat is used instead....great stull but too long ler....better to cut the celery into about 3 - 4 cm length.

Prawn will be nice too

foodcrazee: crabs, prawns, and probably some tuna flakes would have been great! Unfortunately, fridge wasn't too well stocked at that time.
Good point about the length. Eating it was quite tricky (but fun..).

ron: how did it turn out?

i.w.e.p.c.t: thanks for the compliment :)
When it comes to restaurants, i prefer to be the one being served. hehehe.. Owning one might be nice thought (when i'm rich, and after i get my jet. and a big dog.).
BTW, i'm very male and very straight. same rules apply or not? haven't seen any chicks queueing up for me so far...
